Carola
Carola is a DJ and music producer from a city called Porto Alegre, in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In 2012, she decided to learn to play music, a short time later, she turned to music production. A decade later, at the age of 27, Carolina Alcântara scored two releases on Martin Garrix's label STMPD Records, and established herself as the first female music producer in the world to debut on the label. Over the years, the artist has also recorded releases on the respected labels Sony Music, Warner and signed a partnership with Armada, headed by Armin Van Buuren. After falling in love with electronic music in her adolescence and going to her first rave, Carolina Alcântara did not imagine that that love would also become her profession. From that first party on, she felt the desire to experience that welcoming culture more closely, a culture that did not exclude people because of their social class, gender, race or sexual orientation. It was then that the young woman started to work in small jobs related to the e- music scene, such as delivering flyers, producing events and designing e-music related work. All of this experience helped form the artist who is Carola, who today accumulates more than 20 million plays on streaming platforms. Her tracks have been played on repeat and have received the support of great names such as Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Sofi Tukker and Tiësto. In this 2022 season, Carola was able to bring her powerful show to the biggest clubs in the country, such as Laroc, Privilège and to the São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais states editions of the Só Track Boa festival. This year’s most exciting moment was receiving an invitation to perform at the 17th edition of the Belgian festival Tomorrowland. Carola is also confirmed at the Ushuaia club, in Ibiza/Spain. It is with discipline, consistency and talent that the young woman who fell in love with e-music when she first stepped into a rave, continues to work with a sparkle in her eyes and ready for whatever comes her way.
